Dear Atrion Charitable Foundation,

Thank you for your generous gift of $1,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). Your donation enables WWP to focus our efforts on meeting the needs of wounded warriors like Roberto Cruz.

Roberto deployed to Iraq in January of 2005, where he was immediately introduced to combat. Only seven months later, a snipers bullet changed his life forever.

The bullet badly injured his left arm and entered his back. Doctors told him that the spinal cord injury meant tha the would likely never walk again. Roberto’s first contact with the WWP was during his time at the hospital, when he was provided a WWP backpack containing much-needed personal items to help make his stay more comfortable. One year later, Roberto’s persistance and courage gave him the strength to regain the ability to walk.

Thanks to your support, Roberto is now doing much more than walking. You’re giving him the opportunity to participate in several WWP programs including Soldier Ride, a multi-day cycling event that promotes camaraderie and connection through physical activity.

Because of you, we can ensure that warriors like Roberto, as well as their family members and caregivers, have these kinds of healing opportunities. Thank you.

With Gratitude,
Michael S. Linningon
Lieutenant General, U.S. Army, Retired
Chief Executive Officer, Wounded Warrior Project
